Centipede Knight

This project started out as a speed-model competition with some friends to design and model a "nightmare shield" in under 4 hours. I had so much fun with the prop I decided to expand upon it a create a character for it to hold. This turned into "Leecho" the Centipede Knight. I imagine him as a boss monster guarding some underground bug city.

I just wanted to focus on my sculpting and modeling for this project, although at some point I may go back and retop/paint and surface him. I did a lot of free-form modeling on this project, designing him as I went along, without a clear finished concept to work from.

Sculpted in Zbrush, with parts modeled in Maya. I rendered in Keyshot and Vray.
